Wayne Howard

Wayne Howard is a semi-retired farmer – trucker. He and Judy have been married for 52 years, are the parents of a daughter, Christy (Charles) Stryker and Craig (Regina) Howard, six grandchildren and one great grandson. He feels truly blessed to have a wonderful, healthy family. Wayne and Judy were raised in the Lexington Area and have lived on their farm between Lexington and Cozad since 1966.

A former member of the Plum Creekers Mounted Drill Team for over twenty years, Wayne continues to be active in the National Pony Express Association, where he has served as national president. The entire family has been active in most horse activities. He enjoys driving his horse hitched to the Howard’s late 1800’s original doctor’s buggy in parades representing the Dawson County Museum.

Antique and classic cars are one of Wayne’s many interests. He and Judy are active in the Goldenrod Antique Auto Club and participate in their activities and area car shows.

History has always been interesting to Wayne and he considers it a pleasure to serve with a great group of people at the Dawson County Museum and takes pride in the many recent improvements. He believes we must all press on to preserve our heritage.
