I was born and raised in rural Dawson County. In December of 1974 I graduated from Chadron State College with a major in Library and minor in history and business. I was a volunteer at the Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron 1971-1974.
I married Dave Quitmeyer and moved to Buffalo community in 1975. I am a Mother of two and a grandmother of four. I’ve had a life-long interest in history going back to the days of Dr. Robert Manley’s TV program.
I enjoy seeing the displays in the museum but it is the pictures and the stories of the people who used the objects that make history the most interesting.
